Small Charity Week is an opportunity to recognise the role local charities play in supporting their communities.
At The Moving On Project, we work with children and young people aged 11–25 across Fareham, Gosport, Portsmouth and the surrounding areas, providing counselling and mental health support/group work, when it is needed most. Over the past year, we have supported around 500 young people, helping them manage challenges ranging from anxiety and low mood to more complex circumstances.
As a small charity, we are able to respond quickly, build strong relationships and tailor our support to individual needs. We are embedded in the communities we serve and work closely with schools, families and local organisations to ensure young people can access the right help at the right time.
Like many small charities, we operate in an environment where demand continues to increase while funding remains competitive. Despite these challenges, our focus remains the same: providing accessible, high-quality support that helps young people improve their wellbeing and move forward positively.

Small Charity Week is a reminder that local charities are often delivering essential services that make a real difference every day. We are grateful to our staff, volunteers, funders and supporters who make this work possible and help ensure young people in our area have somewhere to turn when they need support.
