Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: 30 September 2026

This statement applies to themovingonprojectcounselling.co.uk, run by The Moving On Project. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. Many of the young people we support use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or browse on older phones, so accessibility matters to us.

How you should be able to use this website

We have built the site so that you can:

  • navigate the whole site using only a keyboard
  • skip straight to the main content using the “Skip to main content” link
  • zoom in up to 200% without text spilling off the screen
  • use it on a phone, tablet or desktop
  • listen to it with a screen reader
  • turn off animations, if your device is set to reduce motion

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. We are working through the following:

  • some images loaded from our database — gallery photos, news article images and trustee portraits — do not yet declare their size, so the page can shift slightly while they load
  • on our contact, volunteer, complaints and Friends forms, error messages are shown on screen but are not yet linked to the field they refer to, so a screen reader may not announce them. Our referral form does this correctly.
  • the map on our contact page is provided by Google and we do not control its accessibility. Our full address and phone number are always available as text next to it.
  • some older pages have not been reviewed as closely as our main pages, and may have heading levels that skip a step

Feedback and contact information

If you need information from this website in a different format — such as large print, easy read, or plain text — please contact us:

  • Email: info@the-mop.org
  • Phone: 01329 822 331
  • Post: The Moving On Project, 163 West Street, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 0EF

We will consider your request and get back to you within 5 working days.

Reporting accessibility problems

We are always looking to improve the accessibility of this website. If you find a problem that is not listed above, or you think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please contact us using the details above, or through our contact form. Please tell us the page address and what went wrong, and we will look into it.

Enforcement procedure

If you contact us with a complaint and you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which handles complaints about accessibility under the Equality Act 2010.

You can also raise a formal complaint with us directly through our complaints form.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

The Moving On Project is committed to making this website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, because of the issues listed under “How accessible this website is” above.

How we tested this website

This website was last reviewed on 30 September 2026. The review was an internal audit of the site's code and markup by The Moving On Project, covering the home page, urgent support page, referral form, contact form and donation journey. It has not yet been audited by an external accessibility specialist, and it has not been tested with assistive technology by disabled users. We are looking at arranging both.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We are working through the issues listed above and will update this statement as each one is resolved. Accessibility is reviewed whenever we make significant changes to the website.
