Last week, I had the privilege of attending Global's Make Some Noise Together Day at the London Transport Museum, joining representatives from more than 60 charities from across the length and breadth of the UK.
The day brought together organisations of all sizes, each working to support communities and tackle important social issues. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn, share experiences, and connect with fellow charity leaders who are equally passionate about making a difference.
We heard from an excellent range of speakers, including Rachel Roxburgh, who delivered an insightful session on strategic fundraising and corporate partnerships, providing practical ideas on how charities can build sustainable relationships with businesses. Professor Sue Turner OBE spoke about AI governance, offering thought-provoking perspectives on the opportunities and challenges that artificial intelligence presents for the charitable sector. We also heard from Georgia and Lani from Global's Make Some Noise, who shared valuable advice and insights into digital fundraising.
One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to network with fellow charity leaders from across the UK, including organisations from Wales, Glasgow, Cumbria, and many places in between. These conversations were invaluable, providing a chance to exchange ideas, discuss challenges, and learn from each other's experiences.
It was a long, busy, and inspiring day, packed with learning, practical insights, and new ideas. Most importantly, it was wonderful to meet the Global's Make Some Noise team in person and connect with so many inspiring charities. Everyone was incredibly generous in sharing their knowledge, experiences, and advice, reinforcing the power of collaboration within the charity sector.
I left feeling energised, motivated, and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive community. A huge thank you to Global's Make Some Noise for hosting such a valuable event and for their continued support of charities making a difference in communities across the UK.
